Active KY or compact state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Kentucky Licensure in good standing; American Heart Association BLS valid for at least 6 months from hire date

Requires handling of average weights or objects up to 25 pounds with some sitting, standing, or walking.

Must be able to work every Saturday and Sunday 7AM to 730PM as part of the Weekend Premium Pay Plan.

Registered Nurses in the Medical Surgical unit on 5 Main at UK Good Samaritan Hospital provide care to adults with a variety of medical surgical needs. Patient conditions include diabetes, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, wound care, and surgical cases (both pre and post operation).

The LPN is a member of the multidisciplinary ambulatory team who is responsible for patient care, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. The LPN performs the duties for which they are trained such as starting IVs, simple wound dressings, and notifying the RN or LIP with any changes or abnormalities in the patients condition.
