Responsible for conducting mental health assessments, triage, short-term counseling, referral and follow-up for Medical Centers Behavioral Health. Incorporates knowledge and expertise in identifying employee’s needs and then participates with other departments to implement classes and programs which promote employee’s health and well-being.
- Provides mental health assessments, triage, short-term counseling, referral and follow-up for clients through Medical Centers Behavioral Health.
- Provides therapeutic environment for clients and ensures confidentiality.
- Completes clinical documentation for all activities.
- Provides information on internal and external programs and resources to clients, including telephone inquiries.
- Prepare and present educational classes on related subjects as needed.
Education Required
- MA or MS in mental health related field from an accredited college or university required.
Education Preferred
License, Certification and/or Registration
- Alabama license or certification eligible in field of specialty within 1 year of hire.
Experience
- Minimum of two years experience in mental health related field involving group and individual
therapy preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks
frequently and quickly.
- Excellent communication skills necessary with the ability to handle difficult interpersonal
situations.
• Must be able to develop classes and present in classroom or group setting.
