The primary purpose of the nursing home CNA position is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the residents assessment and care plan, and as directed by your immediate supervisor. DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY: As a Certified Nursing Assistant you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Sign-on bonus included.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with activities of daily living. This includes grooming, position, skin and personal hygiene, and other tasks to meet the resident’s needs. These tasks are outlined in CNA program and training.
- Check vital signs and weights when ordered and report to nurse and document in chart.
- Obtain certifications in CPR and complete EKG training as well as other training opportunities.
- Assist nurses and other staff with procedures, in ER’s and with any other tasks and duties.
- Demonstrates positive, supportive and caring behaviors in communication with patient/residents, families, visitors and all staff.
- Provides basic housekeeping functions which also include assigned chores.
- Stay current with required training and certifications which also includes on-line education and training.
- Knowledge of departmental and facility policies and procedures, HIPAA and confidentiality requirements, abuse policy and patient and resident rights.
