Salary: $95,000 – $133,000 based on experience and qualifications.

SUMMARY
The Imaging Department Manager is responsible for guiding hospital and clinic imaging department’s operations and to ensure that imaging staff provide quality, cost effective and timely imaging services to patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Design and improve work processes and direct work performance to be compliant with all regulatory and accreditation requirements that apply. Remains updated on regulations as they pertain to radiology.
Establishes standards of work performance and methods of operation for the department.
Secures bids or quotes for new equipment through contract with vendors and company representations. Works with facilities department to coordinate the timeline for preparation of room, delivery and installation of equipment, training of personnel and acceptance testing by physicist.
Participates in and contributes to meetings and committees as needed.
Conducts regularly scheduled department meetings.
Responds to physician/provider, patient and employee concerns.
Analyzes financial reports and maintenance of the department budget.
Collects, generates, analyzes and distributes statistical reports as required.
Responsible for hiring, coordinates the training, orientation, and development of all personnel in Imaging including annual required training and education.
Consistently reviewing department performance and implementing changes as needed to improve services.
Develops/updates services growth plan based on observed trend, existing services, and new services.
Works with revenue cycle department to ensure that imaging department’s CPT code changes are made in a timely manner.
Ensures all employees are evaluated and counseled relative to performance, conduct, punctuality, and attendance and adherence to department and Welia Health rules and regulations.
Assists in recruitment, interviewing, selecting employees, and recommendations for promotion. Maintains appropriate levels of staffing to meet the workload.
Responsible for the development, gains approval and supports implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Responsible for quality control, preventive maintenance equipment and programs (PACS and RIS), equipment calibration. Assists in the development and implementation of performance improvement activities of the department
Provides oversight to High-Level Disinfection ultrasound equipment procedures according to both the manufacturer’s instructions and evidence-based guidelines.
Serves as clinical resource contact for staff, providers and radiologists.
Approves payroll, departmental schedules, and intradepartmental staffing changes.
Ability and flexibility to help cover radiologic technologist functions within the scope of their license. Will also use their ability and flexibility to cover the imaging assistant and imaging front desk functions.
Oversees inventories and ordering of supplies.
Considers age related factors in care, treatment, education and evaluation of patients, ranging from neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately in accordance with professional standards and departmental policies and procedures.
Implements quality assurance standards and programs to assure compliance with MDH ionizing radiation rules and standards of Joint Commission, as required for full accreditation, and in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly manages employees in the Imaging Department. Also provides oversight of employees that are contracted through CMDI and Shared Medical. CMDI employees staff ultrasound, mammography, bone density, MR and nuclear medicine. Shared Medical employees staff PET. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Reviews and approve timecards.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. Baccalaureate degree or comparable experience required. Minimum of 5 years of hospital clinical experience in medical imaging required. Preferred a minimum of 5 years management experience in a medical imaging environment, including responsibility of budget, personnel and processes. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational, mentoring and coaching skills. Knowledge of CPT codes, computer skills including Word and Excel, Teams and Outlook. Prior experience in Epic/Excellian. Merge PACS and Oracle are a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians/providers, groups of managers, coworkers, patients, family members, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
ARRT Certified and/or other technically related Medical Imaging Certification such as NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine) or RDMS (Ultrasound)
