Job Summary |
This position is responsible for coordination of patient services which includes, but not limited to, gathering medical records, scanning, making referrals to other healthcare facilities, coordinating and scheduling multiple appointments, and answering phone calls. The person in this position will need to be adept in working within a multidisciplinary team and have strong interpersonal communication skills. Medical terminology knowledge/experience preferred. Customer service experience in healthcare preferred.
The Patient Service Coordinator (PSC) is a customer service agent for the Ambulatory PT/OT/Speech Clinic at Encompass Health/Cardinal Hill. The PSC assists with the front office operations in a busy hospital outpatient rehabilitation setting. Must have general knowledge of front office procedures to facilitate the regulation and completion of administrative tasks. The following skills are needed in the position: Has keen attention to detail, as this is required for both receiving and filing paperwork for a patient and when entering information into a hospital’s computer system; works as a team player to make certain the patient receives the best possible experience. The position requires strong customer service skills.; good organizational skills and an ability to prioritize to meet deadlines; A working understanding of medical terminology; a working knowledge and ability to use all necessary office equipment; be proficient in Windows-based technologies (ex. Word, Excel). |
