Position Summary
We are home to Nevada’s ONLY Level I Trauma Center, Designated Pediatric Trauma Center, Burn Care Center, and Transplant Center. We are a Pathway Designated facility by ANCC, and we are on our journey to Magnet status.
Job Requirement
Education/Experience:
Successful completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
State of Nevada License in Radiology. Valid American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Registered in Radiography; National Certification in specialty area such as Computed Tomography or Angiography. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO DOCUMENT THE FOLLOWING:
1) Valid State of Nevada License in Radiology;
2) Valid American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) Registered in Computed Tomography;
3) Previous 3 (three) years experience in performing CT exams in a Trauma setting and;
4) CT interventional exams on patients;
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements
Procedures and protocols associated with area of assignment; specialized equipment used in area of assignment; radiography protocols and procedures; quality assurance and quality control measures; personal computers; anatomy and physiology of the human body; contrast application and contrast reaction symptoms; venipuncture techniques; department and hospital safety practices and principles; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
Skill in:
Utilizing computers and specialized application software for scanning and diagnostic evaluation; utilizing specialized equipment and techniques for diagnostic evaluation; applying aseptic techniques; positioning patients properly to maximize results; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment, stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and VDT screens, hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
